New extra credit

Thousands of fictional movie characters have entertained movie audiences for more than 100 years. From the Little Tramp to Sherlock Holmes, Tarzan, Mr. Tibbs, Spiderman, Frankenstein, Forest Gump to Hans Solo audiences have laughed and cried and been entertained for years. For extra credit tell me which fictional movie character is the most compelling, interesting and entertaining in your opinion. I only want one. Obviously, you can only choose characters based on movies you’ve seen so your options may be limited. Do this for fun and extra credit. Write a few sentences explaining the reasons for your choice.

  1. In the thousands of movie characters that have entertained movie audiences throughout the years, Maximus from the movie Gladiator has really resonated to me. I find Maximus an interesting, compelling and entertaining character because of his humility and honor. In the movie he served as a great general for the Roman army. In fact he was so great that he was offered to rule the empire after the Emperor dies. He humbly rejects the offer so that he can go home in Spain and live a simple life. He later gets captured and is sold as a gladiator. Survives the many trials and tribulations that comes his way. In the end he fights the Commodus the man who had put him through all that trouble. Even when the entire Roman Empire was against him he persisted and fought for what he stoop for.

  2. Many incredible fictional characters have came across the hollywood scene. Growing up I admired many superheroes, and my all time favorite would have to be Spiderman. However, Spiderman is my favorite overall, but he's not the most interesting and compelling to me. A superhero that I admired most would probably be daredevil. I find his character to be the most interesting for me because of the obstacles he overcame, he showed that regardless of the situations he was put in he figured out how to come out on top. Daredevil went blind when he was just a kid, and instead of being brought down he worked to overcome his weakness. His weakness became his biggest strength, he worked hard to train his other senses to perfection to become to what he's known for today. This character's actions and ambition shows true, pure, raw hard work; and shows that any human with no powers can become great. Personally, I can relate to this because I myself am a human with no super powers. Daredevil showed me and many others that any ordinary person can become great. They can become great at anything they do, and all it takes is hard work. You can apply these concepts in anything you do in life, whether that's at home, school, or work. Because of his work ethic and obstacles he overcame, I find Daredevil’s character the most interesting for me.
